► What you need to know this week

Announcements

• Starting Sunday, June 5, Walton will offer a single Sunday worship service at 10:00am until September 18th. Sunday School for grades JK – Grade 5 will continue weekly throughout the summer. Members of our junior and senior youth groups are welcome to assist.

• D-Day Parade – We have just been advised of a road closure on Sunday, June 5th, as the D Day parade arrives at the Bronte Cenotaph for 11:00 am. Please be aware there may be delays on that Sunday leaving the church parking lot after our 10 am service. Weather permitting, you are welcome to stay and enjoy a second cup of coffee at coffee time and to watch the parade from our front lawn. Parking is free in Bronte on Sundays, so you are also welcome to park off-site to make it easier to leave while the parade is taking place. It is wonderful we are able to gather together to celebrate and thank those who fought on our behalf.

• Exciting news for Grade 3 students! – Each year Walton Church is proud to present our Grade 3 Sunday School students with their own copy of the Action Bible. For the past two years, we have done curbside pickup and porch deliveries of these special gifts. This year I’m happy to announce that Bible presentations will take place in person in the Sanctuary on Celebration Sunday, June 12th during our 10:00 am service. Please mark your calendars for this day as we hope all Grade 3 children and their families can take part in person. If you are unable to attend on June 12, please contact the church office and we will arrange a special delivery to your door.

Registration is no longer required!

Effective Sunday, June 5, registration for services and Sunday School is no longer required! Ushers will seat you on arrival, maintaining social distancing between groups. If you have a special need or seating preference, please let your usher know.

Please read our COVID Guidelines and Protocols page for more changes!

Dear Walton family and friends,

With summer just around the corner, we wanted to let you know of some changes to our weekly worship services and Covid protocols at the church. It’s such a blessing to get back closer to our pre-Covid “normal” operations, while still maintaining those essential precautions which allow everyone to attend services comfortably and safely.

Summer service schedule

Beginning on Sunday, June 5, we switch to our summer worship schedule with one weekly service at 10:00am on Sundays. Virtual services will continue to be sent out at 2:00pm.

Masks are still required

Masks are required everywhere inside the church building. This includes the Sanctuary, Sunday School and Youth Group rooms, entrances, hallways, washrooms, and the kitchen.

Coffee hour / social hour

Coffee hour will take place following the 10am service. It will be held outdoors whenever weather permits, and in the air-conditioned comfort of Bronte Hall during unfavourable weather. When coffee hour is held indoors, masks may be removed briefly for drinking and eating, however, they are strongly recommended at all other times. All servers will be masked indoors.

Children and youth programming

Sunday School programming for grades K-5 will be offered during the 10am service. Junior and senior youth are welcome to assist. Starting Sunday, June 5, children and youth will now enter the Sanctuary with their families for the first part of the service. They will proceed to Sunday School following the youth story.

Entering and exiting the building

The Allen entrance, main tower stairs and Bronte Hall doors may now be used for entering and exiting the church for Sunday services. The choir loft exit will be used in emergencies only.
