Cathy Winn has been the Parish Nurse at Walton United Church for over 16 years.
Her nursing experience has included working in most areas of a local acute care hospital, including surgery, medicine, ICU, emergency, with some home care experience throughout the years, recently retiring from the outpatient Oncology Clinic.
Parish nursing is a very different kind of nursing from hospital and community nursing. Parish nursing allows her opportunities to get to know people on a much deeper level than hospital nursing ever could allow. Cathy feels that experiencing one’s faith journey together, sharing the joys, the challenges and sorrows of life with others, through her role as parish nurse is a real blessing and a true privilege for her.
