We see people as unique, loved creations of God and welcome all people to the full life of Christian community, including marriage. We believe God intends loving relationships to be faithful, responsible, just, healing and sustaining of the couple and those around them, and that such relationships require preparation and nurture.

Weddings @ Walton United Church

We offer each couple the choice of eight booklets of different services, plus various websites to use for ideas to choose your personalized service. You are free to completely write your wedding ceremony.

There is the option of lighting candles, giving roses, blowing bubbles, drinking from the Unity Cup, lighting of a Unity Candle, using wedding programs, flower girls throwing silk flowers when they come down the aisle, plus other personal ideas you may desire.

Your service is your service, not what someone else has used. Our wedding services are usually 20-35 minutes long but can vary to meet your taste. We usually book our services 1½ hours apart rather than the common custom of 1 hour apart.

If you choose to have a rehearsal, they run 45 minutes to one hour long, instead of the usual 20 minutes. They can be the day before or earlier in the week. This is to help you and your party feel more at ease.

There is considerable written material, such as “How to Usher”, sent to you well before the service, to help familiarize you and your attendants with the wedding day plans. Every Bride and Groom gets a copy of their service for their wedding album.

All our staff constantly strive to make your service your statement of your love and commitment that you would love expressed on your marriage day.
