The Way

The Way

The Way - Lent Devotional @ Walton United Church, Oakville, Ontario

In the passage below, Jesus grounds our faith in his own person, as the way, the truth and the life: a way to follow, a truth to live and a life to embrace. At times the path may be clearly illuminated, stretching out in front of us; at other points, it’s foggy and obscured and each step is taken, not seeing the way ahead but surrendering our sense of sight to our sense of faith. Doubts and questions coexist with hope and encouragement.

How is God, through your relationship of faith, sustaining you right now? Where are you able to draw on either comfort or confidence as you greet each day? Regardless of how far ahead you can see on your path, what conversations in prayer might you have that strengthen you on your journey?

Loving God, remind me that You are the way and nurture me to seek Your way – Your path and Your inspiration – as I head through each day. Enable me to draw on Your support and fortitude as I face the challenges in my world. Bring me into a life enriched by knowing Your teaching and Your trusting love. Amen.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
