We do not require you to be a member of the Church or to be Baptised. We welcome people from any faith background and cultural tradition. Cross-Cultural, Multi-faith and Same-Sex Ceremonies can be performed at Walton or a location of your choice. Services may be Religious, Non-denominational or Civil.
We have no restrictions on what the bride or bridesmaids dresses are like and we do not require you to give us the flowers after the service. We prefer you to decorate your Reception Hall with them. We are pleased to include Lighting the Unity Candle, Pouring the Sand, Tying the Cord or another custom in your service. Pets are also welcome to be in the service.
Our air-conditioned Sanctuary is a lovely setting for your wedding ceremony, and comfortable for your guests. Each padded oak pew is equipped with a brass knob to hold pew bows if you choose to use them. There are 11 pews down each side of the centre aisle. We have many wooden flower stands that you can use, at no charge. We also have a beautiful brass candelabra and lovely hurricane candle lamps on marble bases for the stained glass window ledges that can be rented from us at a slight charge. You can kneel during the service in our historic oak kneelers, though most couples choose not to do so.
There are 3 different photogenic locations in the building where the oak signing table can be set up for photographs of the signing of the marriage documents at the end of the service.
You are free to video the ceremony from the front of the Sanctuary and from the balcony. You are free to photograph the service with a flash and we work closely with the photographer to get the best shots of your special day. We have a balcony to allow your photographer to capture the wedding party and all your guests present on your special day.
At Walton, it is our philosophy not to put a lot of barriers in your way. We want your wedding to be as hassle-free as possible so it can be a time of great joy and celebration.
